RS Vareo Coaching - Alton Water SC
We had 6 participants, Nigel,Kevin,Ken and myself from Alton Water, and James
and Robert who had travelled from other clubs.
After a briefing on shore we set out in rain and squally force 4 winds
to practice upwind/downwind courses. Most people managed to go in at
least once :) We then did a few races and stopped for lunch after
James' boom snapped. The afternoon saw winds drop but the rain
increase. I lent my boat to James so he could complete the day and the
group practised racing again. Generally most people learnt something
from the day and a special mention should go to Ken Bolland who is 71,
capsized the most, always flew his spinnaker and saw the whole day
through in pretty unpleasant conditions!
