RS Vareo Training, BCYC - A very blustery day..

The RS Vareo Training at Bristol Corinthian Yacht Club last Saturday was attended by 9 sailors, with Pete Vincent and Tom Halhead coaching.

The day was gloriously sunny but had an extremely blustery force 4-6 from the north west which meant there were some big gusts. Despite the difficult wind conditions everyone seemed to have a great day.

"Thanks for the great training day on Saturday, I would certainly not have raised the kite in wind like that normally, so it gave me a lot of confidence about conditions that I can handle." Christopher Greenwood.

"I would also like to add my thanks...." Catriona Hamilton.

"May I add my thanks to all the rest - Saturday was something of a "Rubicon crossing" for me. I will now set about developing the basics. Once again thank you for the advice; there is no doubt the video camera bought by the RS Assoc with the sponsorship money is a wise and sound investment. It proved a great benefit to us on Saturday and it can only continue to improve the standards within the RS classes.
Perhaps the RS Assoc will consider seeking sponsorship to pay for lessons on how to take a video and drive a RIB at the same time?????....... Also thanks to BCYC for their warm welcome, making their facilities available and preparing an excellent lunch at such a reasonable price."
Tom Biddlecombe.

"Echo all that has been said already. Made a list of all the things learnt and now want to put them into practice.!" Bernie Clarke-Lens

"A belated and no less sincere huge thanks for the day at Bristol Corinthians. I recorded a first over the line (naturally we won't get into the handicap adjusted data!) this week and can testify that sailing flat (as much as possible) and kicker on just as advised made a massive difference. I was racing against L2000s mostly but didn't see much of them (apart from the 2 almost lapped ones that is). Thanks again guys for the confidence booster." Gavin Clark

A very big Thank you to both Pete and Tom for all their help!
